You've only known each other for a few hours, but you feel a deep bond with Heather. So strong, in fact, that you want to see her again. And again. And again. For the rest of your life.
But you can't contain yourself. You want to be close to her now. You reach out, wrap your arms around her, and pull her close. The warmth of contact reminds you of your mother's love, and you feel overcome.
But Heather doesn't feel that way. She pushes you off of her and says, "What're you doing? We barely even know each other!"
"B-but..." You don't understand. She was giving you all of the signals. Or at least you thought she was. How're you supposed to know? You've been locked away for years!
"Just because I was flirty doesn't mean I want anything serious with you. You guys are all the same."
You scratch your head as she walks away. What just happened?
That wikipedia article was right; dating makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
